Double Bloodroot

  Double Bloodroot

This wildflower,Double Bloodroot, Sanguinara canadensis forma multiplex, a member of the poppy family, occurs widely across northeastern North America. This double form, a much rarer variety, is in Jenkins Arboretum, Devon Pennsylvania. It is my favorite wildflowers, blooming for only a week in early April.
